NORMAL DELIVERY & CAESAREAN SECTION

What is normal delivery process?

It's the most common & natural method of childbirth. In the vaginal birth, the uterus contracts and opens the cervix and pushes baby out through vagina (or birth canal). All healthcare providers prefer vaginal deliveries because they're usually safest for the fetus and the mother.

Why is C-section done?

If you are unable to deliver vaginally, a C-section can be used to deliver the fetus surgically. You may be able to plan and schedule your Caesarean section. It could also be done due to complications during labor.

Caesarean delivery is more likely due to several factors. An abnormal fetal heart rate is one of them. During labor, the fetal heart rate is a strong indicator of how well the fetus is doing. During labor, the doctor will keep an eye on the fetal heart rate. The average heart rate is 120 to 160 beats per minute.
